Take a step back in time and get an inside glimpse of Tahoe’s opulent and colorful history. The Pope Estate is one of three mansions at the Tallac Historic Site and the oldest and largest. The Pope House also serves as the site's interpretive center. Visitors get a chance to see how the Popes and their servants lived as they tour the two-story house and various other buildings, including the laundry, dairy, barn, gardener's quarters and boat house.
